Mums praise simple hack that guarantees kids will eat all of their packed lunch
Mums are praising a simple hack that guarantees that kids will eat all of their packed lunches.
An Australian mum called Amelia revealed how she ensures that her children eat everything they take to school with them – and it’s so simple.
When her kids kept coming home with half-eaten sandwiches, she knew she had to make a change.
So, instead of packing their lunchboxes for them every day like she usually would, Amelia spent an afternoon preparing various fruits, vegetables and eggs, before separating them into containers so that her children could pick what they wanted to eat for school the next day – and it worked a treat.
The woman shared a picture of her neatly organised fridge to Facebook where other parents praised her smart idea.
The snap showed shelves full of plastic containers which were filled with a variety of healthy snacks like cucumbers, celery, nectarines, salad leaves, strawberries, hard-boiled eggs, cauliflower and tomatoes.
She said: “My kids picked their lunch for school.
“They loved the whole experience,” Daily Mail reported.
She then shared another picture of what one of her children had decided to eat that day – a nectarine, two eggs, a packet of snacks, cucumber and strawberries.
The simple system appeared to go down well as many parents were keen to try it for themselves.
While one woman said that she swears by the method, and uses it every morning, another wrote: “It saves uneaten food and teaches them independence of packing their own meal.”
And a third said: “OMG I am so doing this, super organised, it stays fresher and easy to grab!”
Others asked how she manages to keep the prepped food fresh for an entire week, with some saying that adding a paper towel to the bottom of the container really helps.
